Offered is a natural Petrified Palm Wood (Palmoxylon) slab weighing approximately 475 grams and measuring approximately 13 mm thick.
This substantial fossil slab beautifully displays the characteristic vascular bundle pattern that makes petrified palm wood so distinctive. The natural cellular structure is clearly visible throughout the specimen, creating an attractive fossil pattern with contrasting shades of cream, tan, gray, and charcoal.
One face has been cut and partially worked to reveal the fossil structure but has not been polished, making this an excellent choice for lapidary artists who prefer to complete the finishing process themselves. At approximately 13 mm thick, there is ample material for cabochons, carvings, display work, or other lapidary projects.
Natural age-related fractures and inclusions are present and are typical of fossil material, adding to the specimen’s authenticity and character.
